Letters from Zanzibar 1891

Description

This book is the second publication in Trakai History Museum’s series, ‘The museum’s collections’. In 1977, Trakai History Museum acquired a unique manuscript: the letters of Count Jonas Tiškevičius (Polish – Jan Józef Tyszkiewicz, 1867–1903), owner of Trakų Vokė Manor, written from his trip to Africa in 1890–1891. Sixteen letters and 75 photographs taken during the journey have been bound to a manuscript book in Polish. This publication is a unique description of the trip, perfectly illustrated by the photographs by Count Tiškevičius.
